End Stage Liver Disease

Liver is one of the most important organs of the human body and it is the only organ, which has the power of regenerating itself from a single portion.

End stage liver disease as the name suggests is a sort of medical disorder where liver is unable to function in its usual manner i.e. unable to produce proteins and finish metabolic functions. This is unfortunately a fatal disease and the patient must take immediate medicinal action against this problem. However, the major issue which arises here is that symptoms are so usual and harmless that it becomes very difficult to understand that you are actually going through such a severe liver disorder. Some of these symptoms are Scratchy skin, spending sleepless nights and breathing problem. Other than these there are various other symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, jaundice and so on. If any of these symptoms arise then the patient must be given immediate consideration.

In case, the patient is left as such without any treatment then this can even cause death of the concerned individual. End stage liver disease is the concluding stage for many of the severe liver disease such as viral hepatitis, metastasis, cancer in the liver, cirrhosis, obesity, autoimmune disorders and various others. Some of the causes of this disorder are excessive intake of alcoholic drinks, intake of drugs or any other toxins, apart from this there are certain medicines which can also cause liver disorder which ultimately can result in the End stage liver disease.

Individuals who are actually suffering from this disease have very low life expectancy; the sole way to save life of the concerned individual is liver transplantation. However, in some of the cases individual is not in a suitable condition for performing liver transplantation so in those cases patients eventually die.
