Take Care Of Your Liver To Avoid End Stage Liver Disease

Liver as a vital organ of human body helps in the functioning of many other organs in the body. Its main role is played in the digestion of food we eat and excretion of the waste materials out of the body. Even a slight infection or disorder of the liver shows is effects in our body. It is advisable for everyone weather normal or ill to take care of their liver and if even a slight infection is diagnosed in the liver it should be treated immediately. If any of the liver problem is ignored it may lead to permanent damage of the liver tissues or End stage liver disease.

When there is a prolonged infection in the liver and proper treatment is not given gradually the liver stops it normal functioning and a day comes when it completely stops its work, this stage is called Liver Failure or End Stage Liver disease.  Because liver is the largest and the most organ of the body, most of the other vital organs of the body are dependent on the liver for their functioning and if the liver only will stop working its effect will be seen on the other parts too. There will be continuous infections in the body as there will be no organ to throw out the toxins out of our body, there will be a considerable loss of nutrients from our body because there will be no organ to absorb them leading to muscle fatigue.

The End Stage Liver disease usually occurs in stages and it mainly occurs because of either a single event injury as in acute hepatitis or by a regular injury that lasts for months and years as in case of Chronic Hepatitis or biliary Tract Blockage. Giving continuous injury to the liver by regular alcohol intake is also the major reason for many cases of End Stage Liver disease.  In all these cases there is a considerable damage to the liver tissues, because liver has the power of regeneration it responds to the damage of the tissues and produces filaments of the scar tissues surrounding the nodules of healing cells. This growth of extra cells causes the liver to swell in the initial stage and in the later stage it shrinks. These scar tissues give pressure to many blood vessels of the liver and stop the supply of blood. When there is no or little supply of blood in the liver tissues it eventually stops functioning and eventually dies.

Liver is the only organ in our body which has very low tolerating power, its connection to other body parts makes it prone to many diseases. End Stage Liver disease may occur when there is too much torture done on the liver. Hence it is advisable to take care of the liver in every possible way.
